Learn before going to sleep, remember better

Quoting “Ability to Learn Is Affected by the Timing of Sleep” by Christie Nicholson for Scientific American:
In the 24-hour retest—where all subjects had a full night of sleep—those participants who went to bed shortly after learning the words did much better than those who went through an entire day before sleeping.
Consequence: Review things you want to remember shortly before going to sleep. I recall having read similar advice every now and then, but it’s nice to be reminded.
